Exploding Saucer

This might not be worth writing about, but I'm going to any way.
Someone had left a (ceramic?) saucer on one of the hotplates on our cooker. Our cooker doesn't have a flame so no-one knew it was on. Due to the continuous heating, the saucer expanded, and exploded.Here's a photo:

This is after all the shards had been gathered up. As you can see it only exploded on one half, the other half stayed on the cooker, while shards from the other half flew about 3 meteres away. No-one was standing in the way. Hope you found this is as funny as I did (you probably didn't).

Monkey

Today I'm going to post a video. But this time it's not just a really popular one I got off YouTube. It's one of my OWN! I filmed this when we went to Colchester Zoo. The monkey just randomly started swinging on a branch, hitting the roof, very much like it was trying to escape.

Voice control

YES i've decided..........................to write about anything I feel like writing about.
Today it's about voice control programes. I found two yesterday. One is from Microsoft, called SDK sumit or other which you can download from the Microsoft Download Website. This lets you type (e.g. on Word) and do some basic stuff by saying things in to your microphone.

That's all good, but a better programme is called tazti (pronounced 'tasty'). It lets you just say things to do stuff on the web. I found it really usefull, especially on facebook. I use it a lot now. If you want to try it out you can find the xp version here (the vista version is here).


TAZTI

There is another option, the browser Opera 9 comes with some voice control built in. It's not as versatile as tazti but it does the job. You can download Opera here.

No, not decided yet. Today I saw this good illusion:


Now I'm guessing you're probably thinking that the face on the left is female and the right is male. You're wrong. They are both the same androgynous (neither gender) photo, just with the contrast changed. More contrast looks male and less contrast looks female. :) Something to take me away from the boredom of revision.
